Extreme Makeover Home Edition In Baltimore Part 2

It was an impressive sight to see these massive modular sections being hoisted into place.  The weather was “Baltimore Hot” and the wet ground added to the humidity.  In a short time, all sections were in place and the on-site skilled and general volunteers could start work on the interior.

Wow!  It looks like a real house now.  Lots of workers begin to swarm through the structure.

The entire neighborhood has been taken over by this project.  Residents and volunteers alike sit on porches and watch in amazement as the work continues day and night.  Despite the significant disruption, the members of this close-knit community seem to be completely supportive of what is taking place.

Below Right: Here I am in the middle of the “great room” with no roof yet, and I can begin to imagine what this may look like when it is done less than a week from now.  The film crew shooting Ty Pennington and all the other designers was very flexible in allowing us to photograph the production.  However, we just can’t show you those pictures.  You will have to tune in to the program to see the action.  I understand that this episode will air sometime in September.

…And the rains began.  Just before the sky opened up, the crew raced to pull a giant blue tarpaulin over the still-open structure.   Ty helped to secure the cover from a precarious height.  With heavy rains, you could still see workers securing the coverings.  How long will this last?
